Flight ukuleles in New Zealand

Flight builds in Slovenia and has become one of the most interesting ukulele makers of the last decade: durable travel instruments at one end, all-solid tonewoods and onboard electronics at the other, and considered design throughout.

The TUS travel sopranos pair a linden top with an arched ABS back that shrugs off knocks, humidity and the beach, which makes them the sensible first ukulele and the sensible second one to leave in the car. Further up, the Iris, Nomad, Nighthawk, Fireball and Aviator models are solid mahogany, acacia or mango, several with EQ-A electronics for playing out. The Aurora and Aviator baritones cover the lower DGBE tuning.
