Martin had said no to black guitars until The Man in Black asked. Who says no to Johnny Cash?? A D-35 in gloss black was created for him and he played the hell out of that thing for 20 odd years. Now Martin have paid tribute to the esteemed singer/songwriter and made this commemorative model. 

You know the drill, 3-piece East Indian Rosewood back with forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing makes this tank sound unique. Setting it apart from the standard D-35 Martin have topped the Cash model with Engelmann Spruce and adorned the back with zig-zag purfling. Note the 1 11/16 nut width making this one of the few dreadnought options with a narrower nut.

All in all a thunderous guitar that would look as good on the wall as it does in your hands.
