Here we have a Fender guitar made in the hallowed Fullerton factory in the mid-sixties, a delightful 1965 Duo-Sonic II in Dakota Red. The neck butt is stamped 8 November 1965 and we ascertain that it’s all original aside from a handful of changes. The neck pickup was replaced with another vintage Fender pickup that has been matched in output value. The bridge saddle looks to have been replaced and the little guy had a refret back in 2008. It comes with the original grey Fender case, note that the middle latch is broken. The client we are selling on behalf of has owned the instrument since 2007 and purchased it in the states. 

Sharing the same body shape and scale length as its cousin, the more well known Mustang (as popularised by Kurt Cobain), the Duo-Sonic leaves out the tremolo arm and has twin angled pickups. The body is Alder and the Dakota Red finish has all the hallmarks of a vintage instrument. Buckle rash? Check. Checking in the nitro? Errr… check. Discolouration of the pearl pick guard and white tuning buttons? Check. A smooth, played in neck? Check. The neck is a maple, played smooth and the rosewood fingerboard is in excellent condition.
