With the Country & Western music craze in full swing Gibson thought they had better put their flag firmly in the sand and name guitar guitar after it. Following in the style of previous Gibson acoustic guitars, the Country Western is a 14th fret, slope shoulder dreadnought and features a solid Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. Later in 1967 they changed the body shape to the square shouldered dreadnought, but here we have a fairly tidy example from 1957, serial # T89876. Some work has been done here to keep her running, a neck reset and a bridge replacement, but the guitar is sturdy, playing smoothly and sounds amazing. Gibson acoustics of this era are renowned for their slim, playable necks and this is no exception. The white binding shows some discolouration but is firmly in place, as is the 7-ply body binding. Original pick guard and nut.

Communication was great, delivery was super quick and packed so well. The guitar is everything I thought it would be. I have a 74 D50R which is quite a chunky neck, still lovely to play though, this one has a slimmer neck which suits my hands much better. Love the feel, sound and the look of this guitar. I would buy from these guys again if anything came up that tickled my fancy. I'm a very keen Guild collector, so I'm super happy I have this one now.
