$5,000 Summer Competition - Todd Rice wins a Benavides Acoustic Guitar

After receiving entries all through the summer of 2022/2023, we're thrilled to announce that Todd Rice, a primary school teacher from Rototuna, Hamilton, has won a beautiful $5,000 Benavides handmade acoustic guitar!

We're thrilled to be able to provide Todd with a top-of-the-line handmade acoustic guitar that we know he'll cherish for years to come. Built with an exceptional level of fit and finish, using the best solid tonewoods available, a AAA Sitka Top (torrified) and East Indian Rosewood back and sides, David Benavides has created a Guitar with a timeless 'Gibson J' body shape, effortless projection and tone.

Todd has been playing the guitar for around 20 years and plays in a cover band and solo. The Benavides is a significant upgrade from his current laminate 00 guitar.

Todd came up to Studio 1 to collect his prize and was kind enough to play a few songs for us to capture on video - we will be posting these on our social media channels over the next few days.
