Got these instead of usual brand, as I wanted to try a balanced tension set 9.5-46. Really like them. They feel and sound great. I hope Studio 1 keeps this gauge set in stock!
These are quite good though I prefer bronze, the only thing I would suggest is maybe dropping the guage on the B string as that is where I get the most tension,I'm going to try 12s.otherwise all cool.
I am very happy with this product. It works perfectly to tame the volume issues with my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.
An absolute gem of a guitar
Amazing advice from Nick Brightwell as always
Great work guys and keep doing what you’re doing!!
Brilliant service and packaging/delivery.
Great response to questions online.
Fabulous ukulele, brilliant value, looks and sweetest sound.
Figure these will increase in price so glad to purchase.
So impressed with the service, will look here for all my future stringed instrument must haves.
All the best gear! Great advice! What more does anyone need!
Easy to fit and nice sound. Excellent service as always.
Thanks
Superduper transaction, I bought 2 sets of Stringjoy Orbiters sent at rocket speed to my address. My students and mates have tried them and ordered their own straight away!! Top quality & Top Service. Thank You heaps Studio 1, back for more soon:)
It's a question many or any playerz ask when you need a truly faithful (and instant) retune. Thank you Studio 1! You lot are, a "vury" discerning, provider of the appropriate music machines & their particulars!
Hey Nick, thank you. Your discourse, guitar knowledge, passion for these instruments and playing skill give these beautiful instruments soul and sentiment.
This tuner is so easy to use and discreet. It seems really accurate but I also like how it folds out of the way to switch it off. Great service. Thanks team.
I have always liked the sound and quality of Martin strings, but I also hate changing strings so I have tried a fair few different brands looking for something that lasts a little longer. I personally don't like the feel of coated strings for fingerstyle, and they look nasty when the coating starts flaking off. These strings don't have a coating, Martin have added a treatment to the metal which keeps them sounding great for longer, whilst looking and feeling like regulars strings. Perfect.
The delivery service was quicker than Usain Bolt. Product cleaned well from grim to shine. Maybe an adjustable nozzle to avoid over spray for a version 2.0 would be handy. Many thx
I love using stringjoy Foxwoods, they sound amazing straight out of the box and don’t have that overly bright sound like most strings when they’re brand new, then they last for ages even when playing frequently!
I’ve gone through so many sets of different strings and I keep coming back to Studio 1 for my Foxwoods. Run 11’s on my 1967 Gibson LG-1 and I run the 12’s on my HD28, I can’t fault them at all and everyone I recommend them to has nothing but great things to say about them - I highly recommend popping into Studio 1 to have a chat with the team as they all know their stuff super well and won’t steer you wrong.
Dreamt of wearing a truckers cap for years. Now Studio 1 have made that dream come true.
I dreamt a dream, now I’m living that dream. I’m wearing a Studio 1 truckers cap.
Thanks so much for checking my strings and showing me how to use the tuner. 😊
Got exactly what I was expecting, very prompt service and delivery
Best value Martin string deal out there. Really quick delivery. Never by my strings anywhere else. Thanks Studio1 !
Great sound, using them on a 2005 Martin OM42 Koa. I'm more of a finger picker than a strummer. They seem to enhance the bright jangly sound that Koa guitars produce. Expensive but probably worth it provided they live up to life expectancy promises. Studio1 are easy to deal with and very quick to ship. I recommend both them as a supplier and the strings as a product.
Great service and very happy
I represent a sea turtle conservation organization that briefly worked with Charmed Life. They made donations for the first couple of months and then ghosted us for years while still using our name and website to market his products. His claims of supporting conservation are fraudulent.
A fantastic tool once I finally got it working. Instructions were not clear or detailed enough I didn’t realise you had to select the appropriate website to use. Instructions just said you could navigate to the list. Anyway it’s now working and doing what I wanted.
Sometimes you just don't realise what you need until it lands in your hands. My origins are back in the days of Blowing in the wind and all of my early playing involved cheap acoustic guitars. That morphed into electrics thanks to the Shadows and in more recent years my acoustic playing fell away.
You see, electrics are so much easier to play with curved fretboards that create buzz free barre chords and slim bodies that hug close to the body and infinitely flexible tones thanks to modern electronics.
However, I've always had an acoustic about the place, either with built in electrics or simple pickups I've installed, mostly spruce and rosewood. Then I read an article about an all mahogany folk size guitar with the legendary 12th fret to the body join and I thought about it.
This guitar arrived in all its simplicity and required the usual new guitar adjustments to suit my playing style. Now it's settled down and sits on a handy stand. I've got a folder with most of the folk style songs I enjoy close to my music stand and at any time of the day I can sit and sing. And I want to do that in part because I have an acoustic guitar that sings sweetly and is reasonably easy to play.
Reasonably easy to play? you ask. Well, there is enough room on the fretboard for the old thumb over playing style and old fingers not going quite where the text books say they should. While the fretboard is acoustic style flat it isn't outrageously wide and that means that, if I take my time, I can get those pesky barre chords sounding good. In sum it's improved my left hand work.
It took 3 months to learn to play This old Guitar using Travis picking. That was a few years ago. This guitar would have made the process easier because of the comfortable bridge spacing and now makes the song sound really good.
The sound is a major element. Mahogany is recognised as producing a mellow tone with rich mids. The 12th fret placement pushes the bridge deeper into the body for better resonance. The thing is that these are only words. It's not until you get a guitar like this into your hands that you get the message. It sounds lovely and mellow and the people who hear it are universally complimentary.
So it's a very simple guitar that happens to be the guitar I have been looking for for decades. And it doesn't need electrics - none I've come across could reproduce that sound.
I am using these on my Martin HD28, as I was finding the standard 12's a bit stiff and wearying to play. Notes weren't sustaining as they should to my ears. These sound great, but have a noticeably lower tension, which I love. I'm able to get some more left hand nuance, as the strings have more give and single note lines /spread voicings are possible in a way that they weren't before. Great for fingerpicking too.
