Another stunning handmade piece from David Benevides has arrived at Studio 1 Vintage Guitars. This time it's a classic Gibson style 00 shape with a 14 fret neck to body join made from Lost Tunnel Redwood and Pau Ferro. Lost Tunnel Redwood comes from reclaimed from tunnel beams, originally felled 150 years ago. Old growth for sure! Hot hide glue is used on the scalloped X bracing to ensure a true vintage tone. If you've ever handled a Benevides guitar then you'll know he is a master luthier and his appointments and finishing is second to none. He's opted for gold mother of pearl fret inlays in a diamond design, a thin nitrocellulose finish, maple binding making this guitar a flawless one off.
