Yet another example of this fantastic guitar, the 6th we have had it the store.
This one presents in near mint condition, but has been well played in and has had the frets upgraded to Stainless steel. Comes with OHSC.
The model first appeared with a handful of guitars produced in 2005. There were some small changes in production in the latter years before the model was retired in 2012. The earlier models are the most revered. There is plenty of discussion on this that can be found online in forums and reviews.
A great replica of a '37 guitar, the Martin D-18 Authentic 1937 features an Adirondack spruce top, mahogany back and sides, T-Bar neck reinforcement and a ‘37 profile mahogany neck. Period accurate features include scalloped Adirondack spruce braces, hide glue construction, Brazilian rosewood headstock overlay, and Waverly open gear tuners. When Martin was developing the D-18 Authentic, they consulted with the legendary and very knowledgeable Jim Baggett of Mass Street Music in Lawrence KS. and Fred Oster of Vintage Instruments in Philadelphia. PA. to get all the little details correct and they did.
