Martin D-18 1937 Authentic 2007
We have two new D-18 1937 Authentic arrivals to complement our 2010 model. A 2006 and 2007 - both in excellent condition and highly desirable.
These are some of the best and most acclaimed Martin Guitars ever made - and we can attest to the authenticity compared to our original 1937 Martin D-18s.
The model first appeared with a handful of guitars produced in 2005. There were some small changes in production in the latter years before the model was retired in 2012. The earlier models are the most revered. There is plenty of discussion on this that can be found online in forums and reviews.
A great replica of a '37 guitar, the Martin D-18 Authentic 1937 features an Adirondack spruce top, mahogany back and sides, T-Bar neck reinforcement and a ‘37 profile mahogany neck. Period accurate features include scalloped Adirondack spruce braces, hide glue construction, Brazilian rosewood headstock overlay, and Waverly open gear tuners. When Martin was developing the D-18 Authentic, they consulted with the legendary and very knowledgeable Jim Baggett of Mass Street Music in Lawrence KS. and Fred Oster of Vintage Instruments in Philadelphia. PA. to get all the little details correct and they did.
