Here with us on consignment we have a gorgeous '59 reissue from Gibson. Often seen by collectors as the holy grail, the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Sunburst finish is etched into the fabric of music history having been favoured by Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Peter Green, Mike Bloomfield and John Sebastian of The Lovin' Spoonful. As the story goes Sebastian's '59 Burst was the very instrument that turned Clapton and Beck onto the Les Paul. 

Such a legendary instrument was ripe for Gibson's Collectors Choice series and here we have #135 of only 300 made, right here in Aotearoa, NZ. Meticulously recreated from the original and finished by the guru, Tom Murphy the guitar has all the looks and feel of a 64 year-old dirty lemon. The one piece mahogany body is capped in uniquely figured maple, the neck is a chunky '59 style and plays smoothly up and down the neck. The two alnico III Custombuckers are wired with a period correct cloth wiring and two bumble bee capacitors, giving this vibe machine all the mojo you could ever need.
